HAZMAT AND TANKER
ENDORSEMENTS MATCHEDHazmat dispatch service that reads the placard first
Hazmat pays more because it asks more of you: endorsements, registration, insurance, training and stricter routes. We only bring you loads your license, paperwork and policy cover, and every rate con comes to you with the hazard class on it.

Toggle what you have today. The board shows which kinds of hazmat and tanker freight that opens, and what is still missing for the rest. This is the same check we run before a load ever reaches you, every time, on every hazmat or tanker load we look at for your truck.

HAZMAT IN DRY VANS
Your van, placarded
You don't need a tanker to haul hazmat. Much of it moves in dry vans as packaged freight: drums, totes, batteries, paints, cleaning chemicals. For a dry van carrier, the jump to placarded loads opens a pool of freight that fewer trucks can take.
Placards are required for some materials in any amount, and for many others once the load reaches 1,001 lb in aggregate. Below that, many loads move without placards and without the endorsement, though shipping papers and training still apply.
Once placards go on, a few things change for you: the endorsement, the registration, the insurance, where you can park and which tunnels and routes are off limits. We handle the matching. If you mostly run vans, see dry van dispatch too.

WHAT CHANGES ONCE YOU PLACARD
- H endorsement on the driver's CDL
- PHMSA hazmat registration renewed each year
- Hazmat training for the driver, with records kept
- Higher insurance, at least $1,000,000 for most placarded hazmat
- Shipping papers within reach and an emergency response number
- Placards on all four sides, and the right ones for the load
- Parking and attendance rules on every stop
TANKER DISPATCH
Liquid freight, moving weight
Tanker work is its own trade. Liquid surges when you brake and corner, so drivers need the N endorsement and real experience. Tanks also need cleaning between products, and food-grade tanks need a wash ticket from a certified wash before loading.
We book tanker loads that match your tank: capacity, compartments, lining, pump or no pump, and whether it is rated for food, chemicals or fuel. We confirm the last product hauled and the wash requirement before you sign, because a shipper will turn away a tank that isn't clean for their product. We also check the delivery site: hose length, pump access and whether the receiver unloads or you do, so the drop goes as planned and the wait is paid if it doesn't.

YOUR SIGNATURE
Tanker dispatch, your call
Hazmat is the last place to accept a load you haven't read. Every load we negotiate reaches you as a rate confirmation with the class, UN number, placards and restrictions on it. You sign it or say no.
We also plan your stops. Placarded trucks have federal limits on where they can park and when they must be attended, so breaks and fuel stops are planned with the route, not left to chance.

GETTING HAZMAT-READY
From van carrier to hazmat carrier
If you run vans today and want placarded freight, this is the usual order. We help you plan it on the intro call, so you aren't paying for higher insurance before the endorsement and registration are ready to use it.
- 01
Endorsement
Pass the hazmat knowledge test and the TSA security threat assessment for the H endorsement. Add N if you want tankers.
- 02
Registration
Register with PHMSA for the year and keep the certificate in the truck.
- 03
Training
Complete hazmat training for the driver and keep the records your carrier file needs.
- 04
Insurance
Raise liability to the level your target freight requires and update your certificate with brokers.
- 05
First loads
Start with packaged, lower-risk placarded freight in your van, then build toward bulk or high-hazard work if you want it.

01Can I haul hazmat in a dry van?
Yes, and a lot of hazmat moves that way: packaged chemicals, paints, batteries and drums. Once a load needs placards, the driver needs the H endorsement, the carrier needs PHMSA registration and higher insurance, and the paperwork, training and parking rules change. We check all of it before you sign.
02What do I need to haul hazmat?
For placarded loads: a CDL with the H endorsement (plus N for tanks, which together make X), PHMSA hazmat registration, hazmat training for the driver, insurance at the federal level for the material, and placards and shipping papers on board. Some high-hazard materials also need a hazmat safety permit.
03Do hazmat loads have special parking rules?
Yes. Federal rules limit where and how long a placarded vehicle can be parked, and some materials require the truck to be attended. That changes where you can stop for a break, so we plan hazmat routes and stops with those rules in mind.
04Can a new MC haul hazmat?
It is possible, but harder. Many hazmat shippers and brokers want experience, a clean safety record and the higher insurance in place before they tender a load. We tell you honestly which hazmat freight is realistic for your authority and start there. Your fee is 7% until month 6.
05What insurance do hazmat carriers need?
Federal minimums for interstate for-hire carriers rise with the material: $750,000 for non-hazardous freight, $1,000,000 for most placarded hazmat and oil, and $5,000,000 for certain high-hazard materials and some bulk hazmat. Shippers often require more. We match each load to your certificate.
06How much does hazmat and tanker dispatch cost?
5% of gross for one truck with an MC at least 6 months old, 7% while your MC is newer, and 4% for two trucks or more. No hazmat surcharge, no setup fee, no contract.
07Do you dispatch non-hazmat tankers?
Yes. Food-grade liquids, water and other non-hazardous bulk liquids move in tankers too, and need the N endorsement but not hazmat registration. Food-grade tanks also need wash tickets between loads, which we check on every booking.
08Do hazmat loads pay more?
Usually, because fewer carriers can take them and the carrier carries more cost: higher insurance, registration, training and tighter routes. The premium varies a lot by material, lane and season, so we price each load on its own and compare it with what the same miles pay without placards.
09Do I sign the rate con on hazmat loads?
Always. We negotiate the load and the broker sends the rate confirmation straight to you, with the hazard class, UN number, placard requirement and any route restrictions on it. You sign it or say no.
