SMALL FLEETS / 2 TO 10 TRUCKS
A fleet dispatcher for every truck, at 4%
You grew past one truck, and now you are the owner, the mechanic's boss and the dispatcher. Hand us the desk. We plan every truck, keep every driver moving and send every rate con to the carrier to sign.
IN-HOUSE VS OUTSOURCED
Outsourced truck dispatch, priced honestly
The real alternative to us is hiring a dispatcher. Put in your fleet and see the yearly cost both ways. The salary starts at the national median for dispatchers in all industries; trucking dispatchers in your area may earn more or less, so change it.
Our 4% grows with your gross; a salary doesn't. With a small fleet, outsourcing usually costs less. With a bigger fleet, one full-time dispatcher can cost less, and we will tell you when you get there.
TRACTORS
ESTIMATE. EDIT TO YOUR NUMBERS
PER YEAR
salary + 7.65% payroll tax + other costs
4 trucks x $6,500/week x 52
At these numbers outsourcing costs about $6,111 less a year, and you are not paying for weeks a truck sits.

TRAILERS AND TRACTORS
More trailers than trucks, or none at all
Small fleets make money on the ratio. A fleet with more trailers than tractors can preload at a shipper and drop and hook, so trucks don't wait at docks. A fleet with fewer trailers than tractors can put the extra trucks on power only, pulling program trailers instead of buying more.
We plan around the equipment you have: which trucks pull your trailers, which run power only, and where a spare trailer sits so the next truck can hook and go. If buying another trailer would pay off, we show you the numbers. If it wouldn't, we say so. See power only vs owning trailers.
HOW WE RUN A FLEET
Small fleet dispatch service, truck by truck
A fleet is several businesses sharing one name. Each truck has its own driver, home time, equipment and lanes, and we plan them that way, while keeping the whole fleet in view.
Truck-by-truck plans
Each driver's home time, hours and no-go list on file. No truck is planned as an afterthought to another.
Fleet-level lanes
Where two trucks run similar lanes, we line up loads that keep both moving, and build repeat freight with brokers who like a fleet.
Driver communication
Load offers go where you want them: to you only, or to drivers with you copied. Set on the first call.
Rate cons to the carrier
Every rate confirmation goes to the carrier. Nothing is booked for any truck without your sign-off.
Breakdowns and swaps
When a truck goes down, we work the broker, recover the load where possible, and replan the rest of the fleet around it.
Weekly fleet report
Every truck's loads, miles, gross, rate per mile and our fee, plus fleet totals, on one page.
GROWING THE FLEET
Adding a truck without adding a desk
Each new truck needs loads from day one, or it becomes a payment parked in the yard. Tell us before it is ready, and we add it to your broker packets, learn the new driver and plan the first week before the plates are on.
Your fleet rate stays at 4% whether you run two trucks or ten. There is no setup fee for a new truck and nothing to pay while it sits waiting for a driver.
WHAT WE NEED FOR A FLEET
On file, per truck
- Equipment and trailer setup for each truck
- Each driver's home base, home time and CDL details
- Who receives load offers: you, the driver, or both
- Insurance certificate listing every unit
- Notice of Assignment if the fleet factors
Cash flow tight while the fleet grows? Factoring for small fleets.
SIGNS YOU NEED A DESK
You have outgrown dispatching from the cab
- Trucks wait for you. A truck sits for half a day because you were driving and couldn't book its next load.
- You take the first offer. There is no time to negotiate four trucks' loads, so you accept what is posted.
- Detention goes unclaimed. Nobody has time to log arrival times and chase the broker for the money.
- You can't see the week. Each truck is planned one load at a time, so deadhead and home time slip.
- Drivers call you at midnight. Every problem on every truck lands on your phone.
A FLEET WEEK
Four trucks, one desk
An example, not a client story. A four-truck fleet out of Indianapolis: two dry vans with the fleet's own trailers, one reefer, one tractor on power only. Monday morning every truck already has its first load, each rate con signed by the owner on Sunday night.
Midweek the reefer's receiver cancels the appointment. We move the delivery, file the layover claim and shift the power only truck's pickup so the yard trailer it was going to hook isn't wasted. Friday, all four drivers are home by their set days, and the owner gets one report with every truck's numbers instead of four phones full of texts.
FLEET QUESTIONS
Asked by fleet owners
01How much does outsourced fleet dispatch cost?
4% of each truck's gross load revenue when two or more trucks run under one MC that is at least 6 months old. Every truck in the fleet pays the same rate. While the MC is younger the rate is 7%. No setup fee, no minimums, month-to-month.
02Can you mix power only and owned trailers in one fleet?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Trucks with your trailers run van, reefer or flatbed lanes, and the rest pull preloaded trailers through power only programs. We plan both together so trucks swap roles when one side of the market pays better that week.
03Can you dispatch mixed equipment in one fleet?
Yes. A fleet with a reefer, two dry vans and a flatbed gets one desk that plans each truck by its own equipment, lanes and driver. The fee is the same for every truck type.
04What happens when I add a truck?
Tell us before the truck is ready. We add it to your packets with brokers, learn the new driver's home time and limits, and plan its first week like any other truck. Adding trucks doesn't raise your rate, and your fleet rate starts with the second truck.
05Do you talk to my drivers directly?
However you want it. Some owners want every load offer to come to them; others want us to work with the drivers and copy the owner. We set it up on the first call. Either way, the rate con goes to the carrier, and nothing is booked without your sign-off.
06Do you help fleets build dedicated lanes?
Yes. A fleet is more useful to a broker or shipper than a single truck because it can cover the same lane every week. Once your trucks build an on-time record in a lane, we pitch that capacity for repeat or dedicated freight, and we tell you honestly when a lane is too thin to commit to.
07Can I keep dispatching one truck myself?
Yes. Some owners keep their own regular customer on one truck and hand us the rest. Tell us which trucks are yours and which are ours to plan, and we stay out of each other's way. Every truck we dispatch pays the fleet rate.
08What hours does the desk cover for fleets?
Desk hours and after-hours coverage are written into your dispatch agreement, and we go over them on the intro call so you know exactly who answers when a truck has a problem at night or on a weekend.
