SAME LANE / SAME DAYS / HOME ON TIME

Dedicated lane dispatch for owner-operators who want a routine

A lane that repeats every week means you know where you will be on Thursday and that you will be home on Saturday. Dedicated lanes aren't handed out. They are earned in the lane. We pick the right lane, work the brokers who move it and push for the repeat freight, while keeping your truck loaded on spot in the meantime.

WHERE THEY COME FROM

Dedicated lanes for owner operators, honestly sourced

No dispatcher owns dedicated lanes to hand out, and anyone who says so is selling something. Repeat freight comes from three places, and each one wants proof you are reliable.

Brokers with contract freight

Brokers win contracts from shippers and need carriers to cover them every week. They offer those loads first to carriers who have run the lane well on spot.

Shipper relationships

Some shippers hire small carriers directly for a regular run. It takes reliable capacity and often a track record with the shipper through a broker first.

Drop and hook programs

Shippers with trailer pools rotate approved carriers through the same lanes. Getting approved opens repeat work on a schedule.

HOW WE BUILD ONE

From spot load to standing order

  1. 01

    Pick the lane

One that matches your home base and runs often enough to repeat, not just one that paid well once.

  2. 02

    Run it on spot

Book loads in the lane from the brokers who move the most of it. Every one on time, every update fast.

  3. 03

    Ask for the repeat

After a few clean loads, we ask those brokers to offer the lane to you before they post it.

  4. 04

    Protect it

Once it repeats, it comes first. Spot loads are planned around it, never instead of it.

WHAT IT ASKS OF YOU

The trade you make

A dedicated lane gives you predictability, and asks for commitment back. You show up on the agreed days even when a spot load pays more that week. You call ahead when something goes wrong. You keep the paperwork clean.

If that sounds like a cage, a mix works better: one recurring lane for part of the week and spot the rest. Every rate con still comes to you to sign, on the lane and off it, so the choice stays yours week by week.

  • On-time pickups and deliveries, every week
  • Fast updates when you are running late
  • Clean, complete paperwork on every load
  • The same equipment ready on the agreed days

Recurring lanes are easiest to build in high-volume freight like dry van and power only drop programs. Fees are the same either way: 5% of gross for one truck, details on dispatch cost.

LANES THAT REPEAT

Where recurring freight usually lives

Not every lane can repeat. These patterns show up again and again in the freight that turns into standing orders. If your home base sits near one of them, that is where we start looking first.

  • Plant to warehouse

Manufacturers ship to their own distribution centers on a schedule, often the same days each week.

  • DC to stores

Retail and grocery replenishment runs on fixed delivery windows, ideal for regional carriers.

  • Short regional loops

Two cities a few hundred miles apart with freight both ways let you run the loop and sleep at home.

  • Pool trailer shuttles

Drop and hook programs moving trailers between the same yards and plants every week.

QUESTIONS

Lanes that repeat

01How do owner-operators get dedicated lanes?

By showing a broker or shipper they can cover the same freight reliably. That usually starts with spot loads in the lane, on time with clean paperwork, until the broker starts offering the load to you before posting it. We pick the lane, work the brokers who move it and ask for the repeat freight.

02How long does it take to get a dedicated lane?

There is no fixed timeline. Some carriers get a repeat load within weeks; a true weekly commitment can take months of reliable service in that lane. Market conditions matter too: when trucks are scarce, shippers lock in carriers faster.

03What do shippers expect on dedicated lanes?

Showing up every time, on time, for the agreed schedule, with fast updates when something goes wrong. Dropping a dedicated load because a better spot load appeared is the quickest way to lose the lane. In return you get predictable freight and usually steadier rates.

04Can I mix dedicated and spot loads?

Yes, and most owner-operators do. A recurring lane covers part of the week, and we fill the gaps with spot loads that start and end where the lane needs you. That keeps the commitment safe while using the rest of your hours.

05Can a new MC get a dedicated lane?

It is harder, because shippers and brokers want a track record before committing freight. A new authority usually builds that record on spot loads in the target lane first. We plan that from your first weeks, and your fee is 7% until month 6, then 5%.

06Does a dedicated lane pay more than spot?

Often, but not always. In August 2026 DAT's national contract van rate ran 22 cents a mile above spot; in July the two were even. The bigger advantage is fewer empty days and less time searching, not just the rate.
